Mere action is not effective which push you on your toes #Rocky Handsome is a disappointment…

Verdict: 2.5 /5*

Some how the situation is different all around and this piece of action packed thriller is little outdated. After Drishyam I was expecting some unusual stuff from Mr. Nishikant Kamat but this usual storyline, loose script and even boring start made it very unreal.

John Abraham as Rocky Handsome is running pawnshop in Goa where he has made emotional attachment with a little cute girl Anna, in sudden kicked-up she got abducted by the drug mafia who is also running a racket of organ trade, propel ‘Handsome’ to save his soul partner just to fill his own loneliness, action begins in its very predictable way but one thing is slightly not that straight, there is some more story about this Rocky who was an undercover agent, trained brutally in various forms, which shows in some non-linier way but some questions were still not answered like what force him to hide in Goa if he is so competent…?

This film is a Korean remake, loosely weaving around the peddlers working in Goa, but the thing is it does not entertain me as expected from trailer. Although John Abraham silence makes me engaged more than what it promises as a full fledge action flick. He looks more Handsome than Rocky and this is where my expectation shakes.

Some of the deadly stunts are remarkable, but villain wasn’t convincing at all, A few cynical characters didn’t manage to hold, basically the force of protagonist destroyed them like torn papers. Director should have made it more complex den than this where one can expect some sudden thrill.

Go for John Abraham’s silence, which definitely rips you from inside…

Kapoor and Sons – A Simply Good Film

Friday, March 18, 2016

Verdict:  3.5 /5 Star

I wasn’t expecting this much from this surprise package, it is like I am coming out from the long dusty atmosphere after a decade, my passing days were with those stupid movies where I continuously hammered myself to bleed. This film has kind of mercury effect, which pulls me out from the boring enigma. But I want to clear one thing, don’t expect anything overly vaporized, it has family mingle up thing including little spices churn and sincerely cooked.

A story of a suitable valedictory of a nasty old grandfather “Dadu” who is living in his own world to escape the family chaos, one day he is making fun of being dead and got heart attack, afterward his whole family is getting together, even his grand children who are pursuing their dreams on foreign soil, but they are not all innocent, they come with their own clouts and here the film begins with the multi labeled family drama but unlike the extravagant emotional coir. After Dadu’s  heart attack both his grandchildren joins him in small hilly place, one (Sidhrath Malhotra) is struggling with inferiority complex and second one (Fawad Khan) is a successful novelist and has brotherhood thing with small dark patches, Alia Bhatt is coincidence in their life which creates another layer to it  but all these multi-complex looking formula is literally turns into a endearing balance film, where nobody is acting other than the Director Shakun Batra, I am giving him full credit for making this film enticing.

It is a very long film but it has all the plots and platters which keeps us alive, music is not too good but its situational, there are some unrevealed plots also which appears time to time. As a Dadu (Rishi Kapoor) looks awesome, after Kamal Hassan he also holds his makeup so smartly. Even Ratna Pathak was amazing, Rajat Kapoor as a cranky father is natural.

This is a must watch film, Go ‘Bindaas’ and enjoy this family.

Over Dramatic, Superficial, Out-tuned Poorly researched Jai GangaaJal !

Verdict: 2.5 /5 star

Why Prakash Jha took so many years to introduce himself as full fledge Hero, What is pushing him so badly, putting through himself in a very risky game. Certainly his hunger came-out but surely timing was not perfect… I wonder why he took Priyanka Chopra for this film, when her caliber crosses oceans, this Quantico girl has nothing in the film to perform, her badges are totally wasted. She must have felt cheated like audience, basically he used Priyanka’s shoulder very smartly to sharpen his acting skills but Mr. Prakash Jha lost his way in his own story telling.

Jai Gangaajal is simpler than simple; a typical non-convincing film where goof-ups are everywhere, one just can’t shift the sight from one mistake to another, BN Singh a DSP rank corrupt police officer who sells his conscience to local politician, film starts with showcasing how land mafia acquires land from levanter farmers whose life turns to death when they lost their land and money just to liquidate.  Same corrupt police department protecting the politicians for benefits, suppressing the people, ruined the whole system but one messiah jolt the entire process and force other insights to join the hands against the corruption. And that’s the whole fractured story all about.

Prakash Jha although used the smart phones but not wanted to track the convicts, BN Singh’s own family was not with him when he was beaten-up badly, and ultimate flaws were election atmosphere but not showing a single campaign, the built-up was so bad that your head got the bonkers. Mr. Prakash Jha, is there any need to make this film to your credit with so many confusions.

Mr. Prakash Jha kills the Priyanka’s credibility in many ways, this is certainly not a women oriented film, this is the film about a journey of a corrupt police officer.

Don’t waste your time, If you want to see Mr. Prakash Jha as an actor then go and watch.
